Kimi ni Todoke is the story of a girl named Kuronuma Sawako who desperately wants to fit in with her classmates who are all afraid of her because she looks like Sadako from "The Ring" and she's bad at interacting with people.
Nasty rumors about her being able to see ghosts and bringing misfortune to you if you look in her eyes for more than three seconds, among others, circulate in her school, and she wants to be able to clear up this misunderstanding but doesn't know how until she meets a guy named Kazehaya Shota.
I admit, I'm a sucker for anime where a lonely girl finds happiness and love. The first episode of Kimi ni Todoke alone had tears streaming down my face like a river during a typhoon. It opened up so many wounds of my own feelings of being different and not being able to fit in when I was in high school. I found myself wishing that my Kazehaya Shota had come then and spared me the heartache and misery. But enough of that. I want to get back to watching episode two.
